"What an amazing Christmas! Loved the attention to detail in such a spectacular setting. We two women came with our 22yr old son and 9 yr old daughter. Had a wonderful half day fishing trip casually arranged through Tony Nichols, owner of an engineering company. Kids loved it, we caught tons of delicious cod, scallops and also sharks and squid. Nice guy, very reasonable. We love New Zealand."

It was truly breathtaking. When we arrived at Villa on the Bay we were immediately spoiled by the views, the beautiful home, the comfortable and tasteful furnishings and the crisp bed linens. We opened a local sauv blanc and sat on the deck by the last lights. We had 5 glorious days exploring Abel Tasman, Awaroa Lodge, waterskiing, beach walks and even some golf. This place is the best kept secret in the world. Thank you for sharing it with us."

"We first stayed at the "Villa" holiday home in Golden Bay in Jan 2006, but we were so busy enjoying ourselves we forgot to sign the 'book'. Our second visit has been equally enjoyable – we’ve been blessed with beautiful weather and enjoyed various beach and bush walks. The Villa, as we knew it would be, has been exceptional – the kitchen is a cook’s dream, the four poster’s a princesses dream! Other highlights this year were stargazing on a clear night, bird watching in the morning from my four poster – watch out for the tui – sunsets and putting my feet up with a good book. In sum, Villa on the Bay is a slice of paradise!"

We loved every minute of our time and got to do some really fun things around Golden Bay, including: Salmon fishing, day trip to Farewell Spit, Kayaking, checked out loads of art galleries and bought fantastic pottery from Paul Winspear, candles from Living Light, day trip to Totaranui Beach (in my opinion the most perfect beach I have ever seen and swam at!) plus loads of time just chilling at the Villa and walking along the beach. The wedding day was perfect and the Villa accommodated our small wedding party brilliantly."
